Battenkill Conservancy's Fourth Edition of the Battenkill Runs Through It Beach, Music & Food Festival happens on Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at the Greenwich Town Beach just north of the village on Route 29.
In partnership with the popular Troy based public radio station, 97.7 W-EXT, Bob Warren and Joy Mackenzie will offer live sneak previews of their new album; the Saratoga Fiddlers Club crosses the river to offer a sampling of their talents; our fabulous dance party band, the Roadhouse Rhythm & Blues Band returns along with another great blues trio, The Roadside Blues Band and this year we welcome HEARD, a world jazz ensemble featuring upbeat, global influences from Africa, Brazil and beyond performing right here on the banks of the Battenkill! In honor of Memorial Day, George Perkins and members of the Greenwich VFW, will open the Festival with a Color Guard Ceremony

All this great music will be accompanied by equally great food for people of all ages and tastes. Festival goers will be treated to the Battenkill Picnic Plate featuring food from the best area restaurants and purveyors including Boneyard BBQ, Spoonful Kitchen & Catering, The Village Cafe, 111, Dish, Healthy Living Market, Espresso Huis and Amigos Cantina. Come and take part in the music, food and water activities – all included in the ticket price of $12, discounts for families & children. Fly fishing demos, kayak rides, kid friendly activities & contests and the Science Bug Table are all back this year as part of our River Watch Discovery Program. Remember “Its Your Batten kill, Explore It”. Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 31 and don't miss BkC's 4th Edition of the Battenkill Runs Through It Beach, Music & Food Festival.

REMEMBER, "IT'S YOUR BATTENKILL CELEBRATE & EXPLORE IT!"

PictureExploring the Battenkill by Stephan Lack
EXPLORING THE BATTENKILL. an original oil on paper was created especially for the event by internationally collected Canadian born artist, Stephen Lack.  As a board member, Stephen is dedicated to the mission of Battenkill Conservancy and has generously created and offered an original piece for each of the three prior Battenkill Runs Through It Festivals.  His works have helped raise over $2,500 for programs to help preserve and enhance the Battenkill watershed.   If you are an art collector, enjoy the vibrant colors and simple innocence reflected in this piece and perhaps work for a company that has a matching gift program, we invite you to add your name to the Battenkill Bidding Board sheet and perhaps leave the festival with this gem inspired by the river itself!
