Rexleigh Marble Mill

The Rexleigh Marble Mill parcel was donated by the Oakley family in late 2016 and is now permanently preserved. In 2017, BkC received a Transaction Grant under the NYS Conservation Partnership Program and administered by the Land Trust Alliance, Saratoga Springs to assist with the initial clean up work on the 3 acre property located in Salem, NY.
Current efforts are underway to determine what the greater Salem & Washington County community would like to see done at the site that sits directly adjacent to the historic Rexleigh Covered Bridge.  The BkC board's broad vision for this iconic parcel is to i) secure the site to ensure public safety ii) preserve the historic ruins of the remaining marble mill and iii) expand public access to the Battenkill.
