A Thank You Letter to our 2013 "Create Joy" Supporters

January 20, 2014
Dear Battenkill Conservancy Supporters,
As we make our plans for 2014, we'd like to begin by thanking all those who responded to our “Create Joy!” annual appeal campaign. As a result of your year end donations and membership renewals we'll be hosting a program to teach the communities about our River Watch Program; finalizing dates for our Outdoor Adventure Trip; coordinating the “Give Back by Taking Out” River & Highway Cleanups; mobilizing the Battenkill Runs Through It Festival committee (which we expect to take place on Saturday, May 31, 2014) and launching the “It's Your Battenkill, Explore It” series of events.
Please be on the look out for details on these events and join us through out the year.
As you can see, we have lots of plans to “Create Joy!” and highlight the beauty of the Battenkill as its flows through two states, two counties and numerous towns and villages before connecting with the mighty Hudson just north of Schuylerville. The Battenkill watershed encompasses many more acres than those that simply border the river and it is our objective to highlight those areas in the year to come. One such gem is the Livingston Brook Rookery just off Route 29 on MacDougal Lake Road where every spring as many as a dozen herons make their nests and raise their young. Other areas such as the H&V Recreational Areas off Center Falls Road and Route 113 will also be highlighted.
Because BkC is a grassroots organization dependent on the energy and support of its board, members and volunteers, we are especially thankful to all those both with in the community and beyond that support us and help us “Create Joy!” through celebrating the beauty of the Battenkill watershed.
Thank You,
The Board of Battenkill Conservancy
